You can almost feel it. Many folks have shed their academic shackles while still others are putting in their final two weeks (or so), before being freed for an entire summer!!! And we here, at Midnight Insanity, will be right here to celebrate it with you!! Our favorite way, of course, is Lingerie Night, our most popular show of the month, when we expect you all to show up in your skimpiest lingerie. Some of you insist on wearing lingerie *every* week, and ya know, that's okay, but we only hold the contests once a month. :-) Streetwalkers So, did you make it to Pimp and Hooker night? If you didn't, you missed out big!!! Oddly enough, we had an abundance of pimps this time around, and not very many hookers, not that Phillip and Michael didn't make up for the lack of hookers ... just wait till you see the pictures!!! Yes, it was a most entertaining night, with Indy winning the award for biggest feathers in his hat. If you *did* miss it, worry not as I'm sure we'll have another one, later this year. Get Lei'd Our "Special Show" this month is of a *slightly* different flavor than P&H night. We'll be having "Luau Night", to celebrate beginning of summer. So we'll expect you to hit the thrift stores and find really loud Hawaiian shirts, and see if you can't dig up some grass skirts and coconut-tops for the ladies. We're also making a one-night guarantee that you'll get lei'd at Rocky (yes, you'll be hearing *those* jokes, all through |
Rockystock III It's that time again. Midnight Insanity invites you to a most unusual event. We'll be taking over Central Park on Sunday, June 28th to spend a day in the sun, enjoy some fresh air, run around like animals, and make a general nuisance of ourselves (last time, we apparently interrupted a wedding ... oops!!) Central Park is located next to the Huntington Beach Public Library, on Talbert Ave., between Gothard and Goldenwest. Facing the library, you'll want to park to the far left, where all the trees are. Take the trail that follows the row of trees, and runs parallel to the parking lot. It's a fairly short walk to the restrooms, and on the left will be a stage area (of course!) with a lot bleacher-style seats. That's where we'll be!! Coming Home Midnight Insanity wishes to welcome back a few friendly faces. Tracy has returned from his journey up North, and is starting to write our programs. Stephanie has returned to us for a whole 10 days, from Boston University, before heading back out to the East Coast, to live and work in New York. Diego also returned to us and performed Phantom for a week. Diego has been working for the theatre recently, so we haven't seen much of his antics ... hopefully, that will change!! Additionally, we had a guest performance from an ex-Riff Raff of ours, Mark B., who performed with us on Pimp and Hooker Night. Mark recently departed for Northern California but |
Time Warp Again!!! On Sunday May 18th, The Time Warp placed at #3 on Dr. Demento's "Funny Five" countdown, due to the numerous requests he'd gotten for it. I gotta congratulate you folks for a job well done!!! If you've been following the saga, Dr. Demento has returned to the airwaves here in Southern California and we started a campaign to get people to call in and request "The Time Warp". Looks like we succeeded!! In case you were wondering, KLSX 97.1FM has moved Dr. Demento *again*, and his show now broadcasts on Sunday evenings from 11pm to 1am. Hopefully, this is the last move. Anyway, with the success of getting The Time Warp into the Funny Five, I think we should forge ahead and start requesting "Sweet Transvestite". Call the Good Doctor at (562) ODD-TUNE (562-633-8863), and make your request! I'll report to you again, next month!! The Man Who Would be King Sad news folks, Tim Curry's new show, "Madness Reigns", in which he would have played "King Nicholas Serge Rudolph George Leopold Ludwig Von Ebelskiver of Lichtenbourg-Hvoristan", has *not* been picked up by the WB network, as originally hoped. You can help the Network Executives reconsider the show by writing to Susanne Daniels, Executive of Programming, WB Television, 4000 Warner Blvd. Building 34R, Burbank, CA 91522; and telling them you want to see "Madness Reigns". Good luck, Tim!! |
In case you're wondering what's going on with RHPS stars *other* than Tim Curry, we have reports that "The Rocky Horror Show" (ie: the play) celebrated it's 25th Anniversary this month in London. We're told that Richard O'Brien and Patricia Quinn were on hand for the festivities. Patricia Quinn sang "Science Fiction/Double Feature" which she also did for us at the Pantages Theatre, on October 21st, 1995 for the 20th Anniversary in Los Angeles. If you're interested in attending a convention, may we suggest the Las Vegas Convention in October? Details are on our webpage, http://www.midnightinsanity.com/. Shorehouse As the nights get shorter, it's getting harder and harder to stay out late before the sun comes up. Still, you can find us every week, after the show, at the Shorehouse Caf‚ in Seal Beach. We invite you to join us for an extra couple of hours, ya know, just to round out the Saturday Night. Remember that this *is* a business, so you will be asked to order food if you wish to stay. We'd also like to ask that you be courteous of tired, hungry cast members, as many of us don't find the time to eat before the show. We love you all, but we gotta eat, ya know? Closing Comments Midnight Insanity would like to thank the Art Theatre Management Management and crew, for allowing us to perform *every fucking week*; the Shorehouse Caf‚, for giving us a place to crash after the show; the folks who brought down the busload of kids last weekend ... that was *cool*; Bob, for all her work in line; and, of course, you, our loving and faithful audience, who come to see us, *every fucking week*!!! |
