Do not adjust your set. The strange images coming forth are both intended and expected. The highly-charged phosphor gun sends multi-color pixels to your screen in the form of . . . a Transylvanian? A mad- scientist? An Asshole (and his Slut???) Do cameras actually steal your soul? If so, maybe we really *are* the soulless creatures that so many of the Normal Folk(TM) have described us as. Well, the terror doesn't end there as we proceed to invade their homes, not only by air, but also by those tiny-little-cables embedded in the ground, bringing forth dozens of channels of quality entertainment . . . and us too (hee hee!), on more than one channel at that!!! Rocky Horror was, once again, shown on VH-1 this past Halloween, but that was just the beginning. This month we've been interviewed by everyone from HBO to a local UHF station (well, okay, it was *just* HBO and a local UHF station . . . but it sounded cool, right?). Two weeks in a row brought two wholly different camera crews down to the show, for entirely different purposes. HBO came down looking for recruits for their show, "Sex Bytes" (who'da thunk it???), and KMET, a local L.A. UHF (Ch. 38) station taped us for their show, "Illegal Interns". This is a show that usually spotlights local bands, but I guess they liked us anyway. External to the theatre includes television |
Spanking That's right, we've got some brand spanking new (what did you think we meant?) faces to our cast this month, in the form of some Transylvanians!!! Our first is Scott, who began his career helping us out at places like "Live Bait" in Long Beach. He has now become a full-fledged Transylvanian . . . that is, of course, before he dives into the Navy. :-( Our next would e newcomer, Emilio, who comes complete with his own van (trust us, it's important). Despite the added two, we're still always on the lookout for a few good Trannies. And not to leave you, um, hanging . . . spankings for this month include Jaimee (Columbia), Travis (Scenic Tech), Diego (Dr. Scott/Phantom/Crim) and Kristine (Trixie). Next month will see a big one for Jen (Janet), who is also celebrating her third anniversary for playing Janet tonight. Spank her at your *own risk*! |
It's that time again. The time that we must say bon-voyage to a friend and cast member. Tracy, part-time Trannie, most-of-the-time Pre-Show, will be leaving for Northern California. Lucky for us, it's not permanent, and Tracy hopes to be back with us in May, just in time for our convention (did we mention we're having a Rocky convention in June 1997?) We might also take a minute to mention that we're looking for Pre-Show people, so if you're looking to audition, please see the cast. As if that wasn't enough, we also bid good-bye to a non-cast member (but still long-time friend), Joe, our now ex-Sunday-night- Denny's Waiter-from-Hell, who has picked up and moved out to Carson City, Nevada. Guess he won't be coming to the show anymore *sniff*. And, we're not done yet, we also said good-bye to Renee', on behind-the- counter guy, who left us for a promising career at CBS. Vampiricus Thought Monday's sucked, did you? Well, deep in the night, down in a darkened section of downtown Long Beach, lives a club known as Vampiricus. Monday nights from 10pm to ~2am, many a unique individual spend a few hours amidst music, lights, smoke . . . and, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Yes, Elvira had come down to make a special appearance at this club, and several M.I. folk were there as well. With Elvira's presence, also came the cameras (yes, more cameras!) of E! Entertainment, who were taping footage for a show called "Erotica", scheduled for broadcast sometime in |
Star Watch Does the mere sound of Tim Curry's voice give you a warm, fuzzy feeling in all the right places? If so, you can hear just that by watching such children's programs (yes, kiddies!) as Peter Pan and the Pirates (Fox, Ch 11, 2:30pm, Mon-Fri), where he provides the voice for none other than Captain Hook! Also, you might check out "The Story of Santa Claus" (CBS, Ch 2, 8:00pm, Wed 12/4), a Christmas Special (duh) in which Tim plays Nostros, the leader of a band of tiny elves which inhabit the North Pole. Closing Comments Midnight insanity would like to thank the Art Theatre Management and crew, for allowing us to perform here *every fucking week*; Renee', for the several months that he graced us with his presence . . . good luck at CBS; the management and crew of the Woodland Hills theatre; Joe, for all the great service; the crew at the new Los Alamitos Denny's, for the efforts they are about to put forth; and as always, our audience, who only have one month left to get all those New Year's Resolutions done . . . we'll be watching the back row!!!. |
